Meadow Dweller is another song that stemmed from an old project.
I'd written a would-be collaborative track called "Adagio's Lament" around 2018, which was an experimental hybrid between the genres of new jack swing and glitch hop, with some orchestral vibes thrown in as well. The track never found a vocalist, so it sat dormant for quite some time. Looking back through project files, I uncovered the flute and brass samples, and found that when mixed with a melodic house beat, they ended up feeling very "Fluttershy-esque" to me. I wrote a bouncy bassline with some ASMR friendly percussion, and began to fill out the rest of the track. I wanted to give the listener the sensations of exploring a rainy and magical Everfree Forest, examining its mysterious beauty, and taking in all the feelings of wonder and nature, with a subtle hint of possible danger lurking in the background. I wanted to captivate the listener the same way I felt Fluttershy would be, exploring the glorious Everfree Forest during a rainstorm. While writing "Meadow Dweller," I'd just recently been introduced to the works of Al Stewart, more specifically his song "Year of the Cat." It's a beautiful and poetically written song, and the ending guitar/bell "twinkle" melodies, ended up becoming a huge inspiration for Meadow Dweller; which I then remade and added as kind of an homage to Al.
The vocal chops in Meadow Dweller are some of my favourites, and were the first of mine to use a special pitching method I developed, and have used in every track with vocal chopping since. The last bit of inspiration came shortly before the song was finished. I was listening to a lot of MathematicPony's stuff (under her Elyse Shackleton project) and was hooked on a song titled "Our Places," which features a beautiful saxophone riff during the chorus. Considering she's an all time favourite artist of mine (as well as a close friend) I put in a bit of saxophone throughout the track as a subtle send up to her. Meadow Dweller is one of my favourites from the album, and I hope it becomes one of yours too!

Flittzy's animesque 'Circles' is a very close second, but NeverLastStanding's 'Go With Me' has recurrently sprung up in my thoughts since the album's debut from the words of encouragement of our Equine friends, given in as heartfelt a manner as those found in Foozogz' works C_||_R
