With this song, I had two goals.
Being the "Element of Honesty," I of course wanted to write a track that reflected Applejack's desire for the truth to always be told. (Hence the name and vocal chops!) My other goal was to attempt to capture both sides of her personality. Applejack's a kind and caring pony, but at the same time, is incredibly strong and brutally hardworking. To portray these two sides, I wanted to create a pretty melody with a nurturing feel to it, and then slowly build it up to a powerful drop section, with an intense "near-militant march" vibe inspired by the likes of Armin Van Buuren and Ferry Corsten's "Brute." The melody from "Truth Be Told" stems from an old project I was writing in 2015 called "Mizu," which is the Japanese word for "Water." It fit perfectly with the "pretty and nurturing" vibe I was looking for, so I used those melodies as a base, and began to build the rest of the track around those old stems. The vocals were painstakingly spliced and put together from any show clips I could find in which Applejack was looking for "truth." When it came time to write the drop, I knew I wanted to go for a big contrasting "switch up" with triplet kicks, and battle snares. The track went through many iterations, and nearly became a collaboration at one point with a live drummer. (Though due to my limited knowledge of mixing live drums, that collaborative effort unfortunately fell through.) In the end, the track got finished, and I'm quite happy with the final master!
Friendship From Fire is beautiful, a haunting song from the Wasteland Wailers to take you away to the wastelands of Equestria. Never stop, guys! Ponies At Dawn rocks! princealembic
Flittzy's animesque 'Circles' is a very close second, but NeverLastStanding's 'Go With Me' has recurrently sprung up in my thoughts since the album's debut from the words of encouragement of our Equine friends, given in as heartfelt a manner as those found in Foozogz' works C_||_R

Perfect, mellow, techno synthpop for a long, cold expanse of post-midnight cryoseism snowquakes, here in Central Illinois. Pure pleasure for jaded, jejune ears! str8sounds
